Food is the Doorway

Hello and Happy September!

First off, I'd like to welcome our new subscribers. I'm glad you found me.

As an introduction, I was recently asked to describe my work to a naturopathic physician who wanted to interview me for a program in 2021.

Here was my response in case you are also wondering what exactly this space is all about.

"Hi! Yes, I'd be happy to share more about what I do! My work is about helping women find peace with food and their bodies using a mind, body, and spirit approach.

So many women are taught to judge their bodies and try to manipulate and control them and use them to please others and it takes us away from our inner wisdom and guidance.

I support women in finding their way back to trusting and knowing what is good for their bodies and reclaiming their power from a world that always wants us to think there is something wrong with us that needs to be fixed.

We often get so fixated on the physical that we forget about the emotional, mental, and spiritual components of our well being.

And sometimes we lose our connection to our bodies through trauma or due to ancestral conditioning and patterns that get handed down.

So I guide women in exploring what it's like to bring all parts of themselves back into the equation in addition to (not at the expense of) their physical health and well being.

We enter the work through the doorway of food, weight, and our relationship with our bodies because it is a reflection of our beliefs and challenges, and how we do food is how we do life.

Our relationships with food are intimate and complex and impacted by so many things - and we limit ourselves from true growth and expansion when we try to manipulate and control the size of our bodies and operate from a paradigm of fear and lack.

How can we tap into the abundance that already lives inside us?"

So that's what I do! For the record, her response was "YEESSS!! I love it! Can't wait to interview you. It's gonna be amazing!!"

I can't wait to speak with her either because yes - this work is definitely amazing.

It starts by cultivating an awareness of where we are and what we feel is possible for us.  It also focuses on self-compassion as one of the main tools which guide us along the way.

The work explores adult development, personal growth, spirituality, intuitive eating, social justice, eating psychology, energy work, and science in order to envision what opportunities are available to all of us and assists people in seeing choices where they may have only seen limitations before.

I don't tell people what to eat or what to do. You already know what is best for you. My role is to assist you in letting go of what might be getting in your way and to invite you into new possibilities.

The work is not about getting fat or getting thin, it's about getting free.

If you'd like to explore what is possible for you and what is getting in your way of feeling free, sign up for a free 30-minute call here or send me an email and let me know what you are looking for.

In addition, thank you to everyone who filled out my short one-minute survey. Videos and small group coaching were among the most popular requests so I'll be getting busy this fall and hope to find more ways to share this powerful and life-changing work.

What is possible for you today?
